John,

This is the information I sent to the State concerning the spills related to Irma on Tuesday 9-12-17.

Blue Lake2500 Gallons
Saddle Bags1500 Gallons
Foxborough1200 Gallons
Touchton1000 Gallons

Thanks,

Steve Stalvey

He sent that response the day after my open records request, which was following up his information about 25,000 gallons spilled Saturday 23 September 2017.

So that’s a total of 31,200 gallons of sewage spilled by Lowndes County in September.

Which puts Lowndes County second on the ranking of sewage spills in the Suwannee River Basin in September.

All these locations drain into the Withlacoochee River, except Blue Lake, which goes through Mud Swamp Creek into the Alapahoochee River, the Alapaha River, and the Suwannee River.

I made the google map for WWALS, and the screenshots from VALOR GIS. For VALOR GIS, in the upper right, select Layer On-Off, and then Streams-Waterbodies, plus Utilties Service Area, with Lowndes County Sewer Line and Sewer Service. All the locations are approximate, deduced by me from the information supplied by Lowndes County Utilities.

Blue Lake

This one appears to drain into Mud Swamp, which goes into Mud Swamp Creek, then the Alapahoochee River, then the Alapaha River, then the Suwannee River to the Gulf.

Blue-lake,

Saddle Bags

Saddle Bags drain into Jumping Gully Creek, which goes into the Withlacoochee River.

Saddle-bags,

Foxborough

This one obviously goes into the Withlacoochee River; you can see it on the map.

Foxborough,

Touchton

This one drains into Jumping Gully Creek, which goes into the Withlacoochee River.

Touchton,
