Why Conservation (not Protection)?

• We have few large point sources of pollution.

• Rather non-point sources: urban runoff, agriculture, forestry, etc.

• Suing companies is mostly pointless.

• Invasive species and arsenic contamination don't know county lines

• Need watershed-wide monitoring, local code changes, cooperation among local governments, businesses, farmers, residents, etc., and with state and national agencies.
