Update 2021-08-06: Nankin to State Line and Sullivan Launch, Withlacoochee River, 2021-08-07.
Join us on a leisurely Paddle down the Withlacoochee River southwest of Valdosta and Clyattville, dipping into Florida twice. We will visit two second-magnitude springs, of only six in Georgia. We will see the ruins of an old railroad trestle just before State Line Shoals.
When: Gather 9 AM, launch 10 AM, end 3 PM, Saturday, August 7, 2021
Put In: Nankin Boat Ramp, 6899 Clyattville-Nankin Rd, Valdosta, GA 31601, in Lowndes County.
Take Out: State Line Boat Ramp
Bring: the usual personal flotation device, boat, paddles, food, drinking water, warm clothes, and first aid kit. Also trash pickers and trash bags: every WWALS outing is also a cleanup.
Free: This outing is free to WWALS members, and $10 (ten dollars) for non-members.

Nankin Boat Ramp, River Bend Shoals, McIntyre Spring, Valdosta Railway Trestle
Duration: 5 hours
Paddle: 9 miles, 4.5 hours.
Shuttle: 18 miles, 20 min.
This outing includes the traditional WWALS shuttle.
Everybody takes their boats to the put-in,
most people drive to the take-out,
and the drivers pile into one or two vehicles
and go back to the put-in.

Before: This is one of our more popular outings. We’ve done it before:
- 2013-06-22 at 3.25 feet (86.75 feet NAVD 1988).
- 2016-07-09 at 1.75 feet (85.26 NAVD)
- 2017-10-14 at 2.6′ (86′ NAVD88)
- 2019-11-16 at 1.95′ (85.45′ NAVD), we took out at Four Freedoms Trail under the train trestle.
Backup: in case of high or low water is: If water levels are too low, we will move this paddle down to the State Line to Sullivan Launch.
