Happy boating, swimming, and fishing this weekend!

The opposite of last week’s advisory, this week all testers show quite clean results up and down the Withlacoochee River, and at Cook County Boat Ramp on the Little River, too.

Yes, there’s that Sunday too-high 2,000 cfu/100 mL E. coli at Devane Road on Crooked Creek. But that tiny creek has low flow, Okapilco Creek has much more, and the Withlacoochee River even more, so there seems to have been no significant effect downstream.

So we’ve marked all the WWALS “beaches” green on Swim Guide.

Thanks to WWALS testers Conn and Trudy Cole for the Sunday results, to Valdosta PIO Ashlyn Johnson for the upstream Monday and Wednesday results, and to Madison Health and FDEP for the Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday downstream results.

Chances are, everything will stay clean until the next big rain.
