David Rodock, Moonlight Echoes
About his song, he wrote, “A saturday effort in the style of Jimmy Webb or other folk rock acts of the 70’s. A laid-back river-themed reflection on personal change through the Other.”
Here are his lyrics:
I’ve got sixteen dollars to my name
not enough time for any blame
leaving out from grand bay
to youmy shadows are out to find me
they wait along the busy highways
make it through the withlacoochie
to youand i know there’s something just ahead
traveling by moonlight hand in handhiding out on the okapilco
say hello, hear an echo
find some cover under a willow
with youmake it home back to the suwannee
near the prison on us 90
all this trouble finally behind me
with you
We will post videos of more performances soon.
Before the finalists played, everyone listened to the two main speakers, the talks about WWALS, and the headliner at the WWALS River Revue. More about all that later.
Then the three judges listened to the five finalists of the Seventh Annual Suwannee Riverkeeper Songwriting Contest, and picked the winners.
Thanks to the sponsors, the ticket buyers, and the people who participated in the Silent Auction and the kayak raffle.
