People who had never been in a boat before now have, some more than once.

Thanks to Fannie Gibbs of Macedonia Community Foundation for having the idea and bringing the food to this Juneteenth celebration.

WWALS brought boats and stunt adults: people to go in boats with children when their parents did not want to boat.

WWALS stunt adults and other helpers with boating included Dan Phillips who got boats over the barrier, Debbie Smith who brought a paddleboard, Debbie’s sister (sorry; never did get her name), Shirley Kokidko, Jo Ford, Rindy Kennedy, Michael Bachrach, Jacob Bachrach, Gretchen Quarterman, and John S. Quarterman.

We had two WWALS canoes and the Bass Fisher and two kayaks, all of which got used, plus the paddleboard and another kayak.

I heard only one popular complaint: once a year is not often enough. Stay tuned.
