We put in at Troupville Boat Ramp and chainsawed a few big deadfalls and some small ones up past Sugar Creek.

Thanks to Phil Hubbard for leading this expedition and doing most of the chainsawing.

Thanks to Daniel Reinlieb for riding along, sawing, bailing, and picking up trash.

When the water goes down again, we will continue clearing passage on the Withlacoochee River for kayaks, canoes, and jon boats, leaving plenty of wildlife habitat.

At 10 AM on June 7, 2026, the Valdosta gauge at US 41 read 10.86 feet (121.16 feet NAVD88). We’d prefer it to be back down around 116 feet to get low deadfalls.

For the more than 50 previous WWALS chainsaw cleanups and the request form, see:

Nobody has to use a saw. you can come photograph, pull limbs out of the way, pick up trash, or just paddle along.

Thanks to Wild Green Future for the generous grant that paid for the 25 hp outboard and the 24-inch Husqvarna Rancher chainsaw, as well as an 86-pound thrust trolling motor and a couple of LiFePO batteries.
