Valdosta has fallen down to only monthly water quality testing, instead of their former weekly schedule.
They’ve also dropped their two state line stations, so the GA-FL Line trace on this graph ends in December 2018.
Readings have risen since their January sampling, with Valdosta’s US 84 sampling station above the Georgia state limit at 265 cfu/100 ml of E. coli.
Similarly, in the Alapaha River Basin, the GA 135 Alapahoochee River trace for the state line stops in December.
The February reading at Johnson Road on Mud Creek has risen since January, but not above the 200 cfu/100 ml Georgia state limit for E. coli.
As usual, we have obtained this data via open records request to the city of Valdosta. Both we and some members of the Suwannee River Water Management District board wonder why Valdosta doesn’t just publish this data themselves.
