Some of the WWALS water trail signs have been stolen, others shot up, and some places and rivers we never placed any.
Due to generous grants from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (GA-DNR) and the Hamilton County, Florida, Tourist Development Council (TDC), we are working up new signs.
After spending many months rationalizing river miles and icons, we solicit your input as we start designing the new signs.
What landmarks or interesting sites do you think should be mentioned on the signs?

Input Solicited for Water Trail Signs on the Withlacoochee, Little, Alapaha, Alapaha, and Suwannee Rivers in Georgia and Florida
The GA-DNR grant funds road signs, which are in a fixed format, at-water signs, which will have details upstream and downstream. They are for:
- the Alapaha River Water Trail (ARWT), including the Alapaha and Alapahoochee Rivers, and probably Banks Lake
- the Withlacoochee and Little River Water Trail (WLRWT)
- the Suwannee River Water Trail (SRWT), for the first time
Follow the links for what we have so far for each of these water trails.

The GA-DNR grant also funds rack cards. Rack cards are the same size as the z-fold brochures we already have, but only one sheet, front and back.
They’re for use at welcome centers and rest stops on I-75 and I-95 and similar locations.
They need to have more detail than the front and back covers of the existing brochures: just enough attractive information and images to get people to follow a qrcode to the online water trail materials.
The Hamilton County, Florida, TDC grant covers at-water signs at public access sites on the Withlacoochee, Alapaha, and Suwannee Rivers in Hamilton County. (Florida road signs will have to come from some other grant.)
The Hamilton County signs are for:
- WLRWT: Florida Campsites Ramp and Allen Ramp
- ARWT: Sasser Landing, maybe Jennings Bluff Launch, probably Hamilton County’s new campground at Jennings Bluff, and US 41 Alapaha River Landing (see SRWT for Gibson Park Ramp).
- SRWT: Roline Boat Ramp, Turner Bridge Ramp, Cypress Creek South Launch, maybe Big Shoals Tract Launch, Suwannee River Wayside Park Ramp, maybe Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park Launch, maybe Swift Creek Launch, and Gibson Park Ramp.
