Thanks to Lowndes County Code Enforcement for removing the construction trash that somebody dumped under Hagan Bridge.

Now even if the Withlacoochee River rises much more, this trash will not be swept downstream. I don’t think we want antifreeze or plastic pipes or even random plywood and wood slats in the river.

Thanks to Lowndes County Code Enforcement for handling removal after I contacted them. I have not yet heard if they have determined who did it.

Hagan Bridge Landing is a stop on the WWALS Withlacoochee and Little River Water Trail (WLRWT). If you’re really brave, you can try paddling from there downstream 4.92 miles to Franklinville Landing.

The water level at the Skipper Bridge gauge is high enough at 126 feet NAVD 88 right now, between our recommendation of 131 highest safe and 122.6 too low.

But if you do, you may want to take a chainsaw for the many deadfalls left by Hurricane Helene. Or at least take ropes for each end of your boat for dragging over or around those dead trees across the river.
