Thanks, Phil Hubbard, for fixing the Mercury 9.9 hp outboard that we usually use with the WWALS jon boat on chainsaw cleanups.

Thanks to Wild Green Future for the generous grant that bought both outboards, as well as an 86lb thrust trolling motor, two LiFeO2 batteries, and some related materials.

After testing for fuel flow in several locations, Phil disassembled the fuel pump and reassembled it and it works fine now.

He did flip over a valve inside.

We both suspect there may have been some cruft in the pump that got flushed out during this operation.

This is the fuel filter inline just after the fuel pump. It is not the problem.

We’re thinking of adding another such filter on the input fuel line.

Bonus Sky Dog. She helped.

Anyway, the 9.9hp Mercury outboard runs fine now. Starts on first pull, runs in idle, forward, backwards, until shut off.

You can see the 25 hp Yamaha outboard also running. It always has: push the electric start button, and it runs.

I had thought the power tilt was not working. It turns out there are two sets of buttons marked up and down. The set on the side of the tiller is for RPMs. The tilt set is underneath the tiller.

So I “fixed” it by using the correct buttons.

We usually tag pictures with waterway locations. This was near Redeye Creek, which flows into the Withlacoochee River near Franklinville Landing.
