Cleanups at Berrien Beach on the Alapaha and on the Suwannee River 2016-09-10

This weekend, it’s Rivers-Alive Cleanup at Berrien Beach Launch on the Alapaha River, 4PM Saturday September 10th 2016; follow the link for details.

And a group out of Gainesville, Florida, Current Problems, has an annual Great Suwannee River Cleanup 2016:

It’s time to register for the Great Suwannee River Cleanup! This is number 7! You may schedule your cleanup for anytime in September, October, or November. The first week of December is okay, too. We hope river conditions will be good this year and encourage lots of you to join in. Our goal this year is to pass the 100,000 pound mark. We’re close enough we can do it!

No boat needed! This Rivers-Alive Cleanup is on land, at GA 168, the launch for Berrien Beach on the Alapaha River. Bring gloves. Trash bags will be supplied. 300x221 Public access on north side of bridge, with cement strip boat ramp at higher water level but no facilities. Access road is unpaved and about 1/4 mile long. Withlacoochee River upstream, Langdale Park to US 41, kayaktivism against Sabal Trail pipeline 2015-10-03

Come paddle the idyllic Withlacoochee River in its most urbanized area, Valdosta, The bridge in sight 30.8907604, -83.3211441 help clean up trash, and do kayaktivism against the Sabal Trail fracked methane pipeline, which would cross only a few miles downstream. This is a WWALS Field Trip from Langdale Park upstream to the North Valdosta Road Bridge, Saturday morning October 3rd 2015, in support of the VSU Anthropology Club, the VSU Sociology Club, and Students Against Violating the Environment (S.A.V.E.), who invite you to Kayaktivism Day 2015!

WWALS Outing: Rivers Alive Little River Clean Up 2013-09-28

8AM to 1PM this coming Saturday at Reed Bingham State Park, it’s also the September WWALS outing now: Rivers Alive Little River Clean Up. Bring your canoe or kayak or rent one there for half price to volunteers!

We will be removing trash from the Little River and Reed Bingham Lake. Experienced canoeists and kayakers have the opportunity to paddle down the little river while picking up garbage. Canoes and kayaks are available to volunteers for half off. Please register in advance to ensure your rental spot is available. Rivers Alive Little River Clean Up 2013-09-28

According to GA DNR, Rivers Alive Little River Clean Up

Saturday, Sep 28, 2013 8 AM to 1 PM
Volunteers will be split into two groups for both river and lake side clean-up. Volunteers are welcome to bring their own kayaks and canoes to join the paddling team down the river for trash collecting. Boats are available at half price rental. The lake crew will be walking the lake perimeter removing trash from the water’s shores. $4 boat rental. 229-896-3551.
