Per agreement just received from VSU, at least three local artists will have art for sale in a silent auction, in addition to on exhibit, at the February 27th Withlacoochee and Little River Water Trail Workshop! A portion of the proceeds will go to support WWALS, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

The exhibit and auction will include drawings and oil paintings by Julie Bowland, photographs by Dominick Gheesling and photographs by Bryan Garris. Guests will have an opportunity to bid on the art, as well as other items, during the workshop, with the winning bids announced towards the end of the event.
Other artists are encouraged to participate, and if you’ve got something you want to auction for the benefit of WWALS, please let us know, at wwalswatershed@gmail.com. The focus is rivers, creeks, swamps, springs, sinkholes, and lakes, especially our own Withlacoochee River, Little River, Okapilco Creek, and Piscola Creek. Water, boating, fishing, swimming, diving, plants, animals, people, agriculture, even that pesky pipeline, all are appropriate subjects. Photographs, paintings, drawings, sketches, sculpture, pottery, found objects, textiles, all are good to enter.

This is all in addition to the college student logo contest, the geology talk by Dennis Price, and the history and archaeology talk by Tom Baird. Follow this link for details.
And don’t forget the January Outing on the Little River, from GA 122 to Lawson Millpond Road, betweeen Hahira and Barney, January 16th 2016.
