For example, you can see the parking lot on St. Augustine Road next to Hightower Creek that has featured in many previous WWALS posts about trash.

The map conveniently shows streams and detention ponds (and lakes) along with parking lots. This makes it easy to focus on the most likely sources of trash into waterways.

Another example is this small detention pond on Baytree Road next to Sugar Creek.

This map was made for me a couple years ago by the Southern Georgia Regional Commission (SGRC).

It has been used several times in the ongoing WWALS campaign to stop trash before it gets into waterways.

For example, I sent a copy of the PDF to Valdosta Community Protections Manager Anetra Riley. I like to think it might be of some use to the Valdosta City Marshalls in in sending notices and citations if necessary to parking lot owners and managers, telling them they have to follow the excellent Valdosta trash ordinances.

No, the map does not show all impervious surface. For example, it does not include every driveway. But it includes the big parking lots that spill trash into creeks that go into the Withlacoochee River (and the Alapahoochee and Alapaha Rivers).
