Once again the kayak raffle winner was a surprise, this time with a twist.

But that’s not where the kayak ended up. I delivered it to Eileen Box, also of Live Oak, Florida. Why?

Well, Eileen (who is a WWALS board member) called Fifika to tell her the news, and got quite a shock.

“I told Eileen when I bought the tickets that if I won, she could have it, but I guess she forgot,” said Fifika.

It was Eileen’s birthday, so she got quite a present.

“Make sure she knows she’s stuck with it; we’ve got enough boats,” said Fifika’s husband, John.

Eileen seemed pleased enough at the board meeting.

Yes, we have pictures and video from the board meeting, which we will post. Plus we’ve asked Eileen and Fifika for a picture of the two of them with the kayak.

Thanks again to Phil Hubbard for the donation of the raffle kayak.

Don’t worry, we plan to do it again.
