What: The Festival announcement says:

The 16th Annual Azalea Festival is quickly approaching! This year’s festival is set to be the biggest and best yet! Approximately 25,000 attendees from all over the Southeast will converge in Valdosta and Lowndes County on March 12 & 13 to enjoy two full days of vendors and entertainment. Guests can expect to see approximately 160 arts & crafts vendors, a food court, six stage areas (the most ever!) of entertainment, a 5k race, a 1 mile fun walk/run, and a huge KidZone full of fun and activities. Special thanks to all of our volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and entertainers for making the Azalea Festival possible.

Back by popular demand will be the Classic Car and Motorcycle Show (Sunday), the Disc-Connected K9’s Frisbee Show, the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show, the Wild Adventures Stage, and a whole lot more! This year, our KidZone has been expanded to include the new Falconry Forever (Birds of Prey) display and exhibits and the Touch-A-Truck area.

This event has become a regional festival attracting attendees from all over the Southeastern United States. In 2015, we had over 150 vendors and guests from several different states. Race participants have come from as far away from Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania. In addition, last minute hits on our website indicate that people are traveling from as far away as the Carolinas, Alabama, and throughout Florida to attend the Azalea Festival. And why not? Admission is free and it’s great fun!

Plan to stay for the whole weekend—March 12 & 13 will also be the seasonal opening weekend for Wild Adventures Theme Park. So, plan to spend the entire weekend in Valdosta and Lowndes County. Spend a day at the festival and a day at Wild Adventures! In addition to the Azalea Festival and Wild Adventures, Valdosta and Lowndes County offers a lot more to see and do. Book a room at one of our many hotels for the weekend and dine at any of our great restaurants. Make the weekend of March 12 & 13, 2016 your South GA mini vacation!
