WWALS would like to thank the Berrien County Board of Commissioners and staff for years of cooperation about the Alapaha River Water Trail (ARWT) and the many landings on it in Berrien County, as well as the one landing in Berrien County on the Withlacoochee and Little River Water Trail (WLRWT).
Here is a letter from September 2016 granting WWALS permission to put signs on county property at all the water trail landings it names, and a Commission vote to change two access points from having Landing in their name to be called instead Sheboggy Boat Ramp and Berrien Beach Boat Ramp.
Letter from Berrien County 2016-09-14
Thanks to County Administrator Brenda Ferrell and to all the Commissioners for this letter. Thanks to Angie Rutland, GA-ACEM, Berrien County EMA/911 Director, for getting agreement from the Commissioners on these names and addresses for the landings. Two of these names were later changed from Landing to Boat Ramp by the vote of the Commission shown below.

Last week the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) did
plant signs for WWALS at all ARWT landings and boat ramps in Georgia (except at Naylor Boat Ramp in Lowndes County, where
that county will plant road signs once it’s finished).
You can help pay for those signs by donating here.
Renaming two landings to Boat Ramp
Many thanks to Angie Rutland, GA-ACEM, Berrien County EMA/911 Director, for facilitating this vote in the Minutes, Regular Session, March 6, 2018, in NEW BUSINESS on page 3:
K. Boat Landing vs. Boat Ramp — WWALS Watershed Coalition—Administration received a request from WWALS (Withlacoochee, Willachoochee, Alapaha, Little and Suwannee River Watersheds) to rename Sheboggy Landing to the Sheboggy Boat Ramp and the Berrien Beach Landing to the Berrien Beach Boat Ramp. By doing this it will keep the names consistent throughout the counties. Commissioner Jimmy Parker made a motion to approve the boat landings to be named Sheboggy Boat Ramp and Berrien Beach Boat Ramp, seconded by Commissioner John Nugent.
You can help pay for ARWT road signs by donating here.
