Suwannee Riverkeeper John S. Quarterman speaking with all nine Georgia Riverkeepers, 2019-02-06

I will talk about Valdosta sewage spills, Georgia Sewage Spills Reports, other E. coli in the rivers, water quality testing and how you can help test, and on April 10th Florida counties Rivers Task Force meets Valdosta City Council.

Have some fun with us, too, August 24th at the Suwannee Riverkeeper Songwriting Contest.

Race or just paddle April 27th at the BIG Little River Paddle Race, or join us for a week, June 15-21, with 300 people on Paddle Georgia down Withlacoochee and Suwannee Rivers, ending with the Final Feast catered by WWALS at Advent Christian Village in Dowling Park, Friday, June 21st. Or join us in our watery living room April 19th and every full moon sunset at Banks Lake Full Moon Paddles, or paddle down the Suwannee River May 4th from Cone Bridge to White Springs, or come see us on land May 27th in White Springs at the Florida Folk Festival.

In December all thirteen Florida Waterkeepers formed Waterkeepers Florida, which met in February in Gainesville and will again in Orlando April 15th, with telephone meetings in between. WKA FL’s first act was to sign the Phosphate Mine Resolution, and you can help stop the proposed HPS II mine in Bradford and Union Counties. Also other advocacy and outings.

WWALS Watershed Coalition (WWALS) advocates for conservation and stewardship of the Withlacoochee, Willacoochee, Alapaha, Little, and Suwannee River watersheds in south Georgia and north Florida through education, awareness, environmental monitoring, and citizen activities. Founded in June 2012, WWALS has board members from multiple counties in south Georgia and north Florida, and members from all over the Suwannee River Basin and from farther away. Since December 2016, John S. Quarterman is the Suwannee Riverkeeper®, which is a staff position and a project of WWALS as the Member of Waterkeeper® Alliance for the Suwannee River Basin.

For more WWALS outings and events as they are posted, see the WWALS calendar or the WWALS outings and events web page. WWALS members also get an upcoming list in the Tannin Times newsletter.

Enjoyed your presentation today of the Riverkeepers @ the Woman’s Club of Live Oak. Thank you for coming.

I’m also on here looking for the post of the Live Oak Woman’s Club Chorus singing Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy. Did you post it?
