WWALS with Satilla Riverkeeper at Okefenokee Pioneer Day Festival 2016-11-19

Cane syrup boiling, mule grinder, endangereed species puppetry, and more at the Okefenokee Pioneer Day Festival. With the froggie toss game, WWALS will be on the east side of the Okefenokee Swamp Saturday November 19th 2016, travelling out of WWALS territory to visit our good neighbor to the east, Satilla Riverkeeper.

When: 9AM – 3PM, Saturday, November 19th 2016

Where: Richard S. Bolt Visitor Center
Suwannee Canal Recreation Area (East Entrance)
Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge

Directions: From the north (Waycross) take US 82 to US 1 south to Folkston
From the east (Brunswick) take GA 40 west to Folkston
From the south (Jacksonville) take US 1 north to FOlkston
From anywhere, once in Folkston,
Turn onto Main Street heading west.
Go through two stoplights and across the railroad tracks.
Take a left at 3rd light onto Okefenokee Trail (Parkway), also called GA 121/23 South.
Drive for approx. 7 miles,
turn right at “Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge” sign.
Follow this road about 4 miles to the end.
When you reach a large parking area,
you will see the Richard S. Bolt Visitor Center on your left.

Then we all pack up and head across the state line for the St Marys Riverkeeper Bash.
