Gov. Deal issues executive order to help pipeline company

The same Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal who has done nothing to protect Georgians from the invading Sabal Trail fracked methane pipeline yesterday issued an executive order to help out a pipeline company spilling gasoline in Alabama.

Tomorrow morning you can come help protect our Withlacoochee River from Sabal Trail 9AM Saturday Sept. 17th 2016 at the US84 bridge, halfway between Quitman and Valdosta, GA, off I-75 exit 16.

From Suwannee River Jamboree to Suwannee River Roots Revival

This old time radio show, Suwannee River Jamboree Radio Program, has some names you probably have heard of, others no doubt famous at the time, others more local, and others, well enthusiastic.

Welcome to the Florida Folklife Collection podcast series from the State Library and Archives of Florida.

In this feature we’ll take a nostalgic look at old time Florida radio with an original broadcast of the Suwannee River Jamboree preview. The Suwannee River Jamboree was broadcast from WNER out of Live Oak, Florida. The program ran from 1952 to 1962 and was billed as the deep south country music show from the heart of the Suwannee River Country.

This broadcast, believed to be from 1958, was created from a tape reel transfer of one of the original transcription discs from the radio program. So, let’s sit back and adjust our dial for 1958 and the Suwannee River Jamboree preview, the show’s about to start.

Update 2016-12-09: Here are directions to Suwannee River Campsites at 30.414, -83.159167. Facing the boat ramp, up to your right you’ll see a trail head. Follow the trail into the woods along the river bank. The river bends left, then right. Shortly after the right bend is the crossing, at 30.407379, -83.156494. Sabal Trail has marked its path in the woods; stay off of their easement but follow it until you come to a field where you should be able to see the HDD site. Send back lots of pictures. For maps and aerial pictures, see Sabal Trail maps digitized. Much more information here. And you may want to ask the CEO of college-savings mutual fund Virginia529 why her company is the biggest mutual fund stockholder in the stranded investment of Spectra Energy.

Yes, Sabal Trail wants to cross the Suwannee River IN Suwannee River State Park.

Bill Gates, Suwannee Farms, Lakeland Sands, examples from the air 2016-06-21

Here are a few pictures of some Bill Gates properties from the MIDS Southwings flyover of June 21st, 2016, including Lakeland Sands 208th St. to Suwannee Farms 30.0667640, -82.9828050 Suwannee Farms which we previously discovered a Gates subsidiary had bought.

Notice how close these lands are to the Suwannee River or the Withlacoochee River and Madison Blue Spring. Some of them look freshly cleared. Many of them are probably also in Floridan Aquifer recharge zones. There is more identification work to be done. And we have more aerial pictures (and video).
